A while back I asked him to put together an all purpose lemonade stand that I could use for mini photography sessions, and even though he said he wasn’t that good at wood working (he was more skilled at metal work and welding) he would give it a try. It came out fantastic, and he realized with the same and correct tools to do it he was a pretty good wood worker! After that my mind ran wild with all the newborn photography props that he could make me!!
Now I want to be very clear and careful about this. I saw the newborn moon prop from Mr. and Mrs. and Co. and I very much think they deserve credit for this beautiful design and idea. (I’ve also seen similar props in other places but it seems like their’s is the original). And while we didn’t have the money at the time to spend on a prop like this, with how much work goes into them it is definitely a good deal. With that said, Bradley wanted a project and I wanted a moon!
I kept dropping hints about it and reminding him how I wanted it to be his next project, and eventually he dropped the secret that it was going to be my Christmas present! (he’s not very good at the secret thing, bless him) I was so excited. I got to pick out paint swatches and he would text me pictures of the progress, and when our little moon finally came home I was so excited and couldn’t wait to use it!!
Below is a few photos of its progression as well as it in use! Enjoy!
Omigosh that is beautiful! My compliments to the master craftsman!
