Keisha is the sister-in-law of one of my good friends and fellow family photographer Jenna. Keisha and Jenna came out to the Birth Network of Monterey County Baby Fair a few months ago, and entered the raffle I was having and Keisha won! I was so excited for her newborn session! Jenna told me she was going to do maternity portraits for Keisha and her family, and she had never had any before with her two other girls. I asked if I could tag along because they have such an adorable family, and Keisha had the most perfect baby bump, and Jenna graciously said I could!

They pick out one of my favorite spots in Pacific Grove that has beautiful trees and sunlight and just down the road gorgeous Asilomar beach. After we took some photos in the forest we drove down the street, and literally as I was turning the corner onto Sunset Drive the sun dipped behind a huge cloud/fog bank never to be seen or heard from again. Within the next 10 minutes the fog rolled in and flowed over the rocks and shoreline, so thick we could only see a few cars down the street. We all were a little worried, but I knew that the images would still turn out gorgeous. I always love a little bit of over cast or fog. It makes the light so soft and pretty and I think it adds a little bit of mystery.

Keisha changed into her second dress, a gown from Sew Trendy , and the second the girls saw her they said “Wow mom, you look like a mermaid!” my heart just melted into a big puddle. Keisha looks like a gorgeous sea mermaid with the mystical seascape backdrop.

About a month later baby Asher made his arrival. Jenna sent me a photo of her holding him at the hospital and I could get over his incredible head of hair, and those perfect pouty lips! I couldn’t wait for our session!! Asher was even more adorable in person, and his sisters were so happy and proud to hold him. Every time they walked by me they would gently brush his hair with their hand or give him a kiss on the head-so cute!! They are already the best big sisters!
