There is something about being in front of a camera that will make you immediately aware that you have hands and no idea where to put them. This is universally true. I would say at this point I should be pretty comfortable in front of the camera, but that lens is pointed on you it’s so much pressure! I definitely feel it, and I’m so revealed when my photographer tells me what to do.

You never have to worry about that when I’m behind the camera. I will definitely tell you what to do where to stand, and most importantly where to put your hands, and if I don’t mention it it’s because you’re doing it perfect naturally. I would definitely say my style of photography is posed, but I also love the in between moments that come from posing couples beautifully. A lot of times I’ll do a mix of more stationary poses and then “poses” that involve more action, like walking together or swooshing your dress. Inevitably when walking you’ll slighting stumble and start laughing together, or look at each other lovingly and those moments while technically posed are so natural and beautiful too.

Jason and Linda were both naturals at their Carmel maternity session. We totally got the best of both worlds. At the beginning it was super sunny and we got this gorgeous sun drenched light, but in typical Monterey Bay fashion the fog/clouds came in fast. It was totally ok though. It made this beautiful soft light that I just love.

I hope it’s hard to tell from he session but the beach was actually really busy that day. We even saw some teenage kids dancing and filming tiktok videos which made me laugh cause on of their moms has the pleasure of being the camera woman. We would find a perfect spot and it seemed like people would follow us. So, I made sure we shot fast and kept moving so Jason and Linda would feel too awkward, and it totally all worked out in the end cause I think the fog drove people to call it a night and head home. Can’t wait to share their newborn session here.
