Twins!!! That’s Right…TWO!-Morgan Hill Newborn Photography

Picture

My twin newborn photography setup sketches. I basically memorized them. If you look through the actual photos, I think I did pretty good.

I’ve always thought twins were extra special. I’m that person that will always watch a documentary on discovery or 20/20, and think its amazing that a set of twin separated at birth end up both being fireman and using the exact same rare toothpaste. There is something about that bond that is amazing and totally fascinating…but I digress. Anyways, I was talking to my Mr. So Cute Photo and telling him that I was sad that I hadn’t gotten to do a twin session yet, and that I had seen other photographer just starting out who had done multiple multiples sessions (see what I did there 🙂 ). Literally an hour later I get and email from Sarah saying her babies had just arrived home from the NICU, and they were looking for a newborn photographer!! They had gone through a bit of trouble trying to find a photographer, with the little ones arriving early, and people still being on winter vacation, and another photographer being sick. I think it was meant to be!

I had heard horror stories (in the newborn forums) how NICU babies don’t like to be touched, or how one is the “good” twin and the other is impossible. This all meant that I had to be prepared. I thought of a couple setups and did some research. I made sketches and planned everything out, so it would flow as best a possible. I even had alternate plans just incase one twin wasn’t having it. And you know what? Those twins were angels! I mean the planning definitely helped, but I seriously couldn’t ask for a better session. Once I got them both wrapped they were sleepy little nuggets. It was an awesome session and the parents were so much help.

I hope I get to do it again soon!!
