This girl surprised her Mom and Dad and came a whole month early. I teased them and told her mom, “Well, she’s going to be like that for the rest of her life-doing everything on her own time.” We all had a good chuckle. I think it’s pretty true though. Newborns, even though they have been in this world only a short time already have distinct traits. Sometimes they are physical, like laying a certain way or kicking out a leg ( even in deep sleep), and every once in awhile they are personality traits like how calm they are. I guess most people think baby are all calm, but in the couple hours I get to spend with each one you can really tell a difference between the ones that are calm and the ones that will grow up and become a soccer player. This little peanut was a joy to photograph. Her mom had a special love for orchids and they had a bloom in their house she really wanted to incorporate. I loved the idea and thought it was incredibly special!

Oh Monterey, you have one fabulous newborn photographer! I was gushing over your images but the sweet newborn all wrapped up with the bear bonnet just tugged right at the heart strings.
This Monterey newborn was captured so beautifully! There is a great variety of beautifully styled and posed images. You have to be a skilled photographer to capture so much with a newborn baby in a photography session!
