I think I might have actually gasped when I saw Paul and Ashley get out of the car. They had followed my style guide and looked so amazing I could wait to get their session started! Jameson, though, had other ideas! He was having a rough day and went from super smiley to stranger danger alert in seconds! I pulled out all the stops…silly faces…peek-a-boo…youtube videos. The youtube videos mom and dad pulled up on the phone calmed him down, but I was determined to get smiles! I had one more trick up my sleeve, well actually more up my nose! It’s the fake ah-choo! It’s a full body-head banging-hair flying work out, and when it works it usually work really well! That did the trick, plus every once in a while, I can make the noise and they will still laugh and look at me. I even had momma copy me once or twice to get him to look at her. It totally worked, and it was totally worth it!
The whole maternity session was magical. Ashley’s white lace and tulle dress was gorgeous amidst the pacific grove trees and warm backlight. About half way through the session we headed back to the car to go to the beach. Ashley asked me if she should change here or at the beach. I knew neither spots had a convenient bathroom, so I got out my pop-up changing pod from the car. It worked perfect, and is such a great thing to have on hand!
Her second outfit was just as stunning. A royal blue maternity gown from J & L designs boutique. She also told me she knew the designer, and I was so surprised cause I had no idea they were local to Monterey! I’m so excited to work with the in the future!
We drove out to Asilomar which is just down the street from 17 mile drive. The weather was perfect, and had a soft little breeze. The coast line made such a spectacular backdrop to this part of the maternity session, especially with that blue dress.
These are stunning B! I can see these being ALL OVER your next style guide. Perfection!
